Veterans Day Parade
The Boy Scouts of America are cordially invited to participate in the 4th Annual Veterans Day Parade to be held on the grounds of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Alvin C. York Campus, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on Saturday, November 18, 2017. The parade is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. The entry form and rules are attached. If you are interested in participating in the parade, please return your entry form no later than November 3, 2017.
The entry categories are:
1. Hospital entries 6. Commercial/clubs
2. Musical groups/bands 7. Marching units
3. Service and fraternal organizations 8. Motorcycle units
4. Youth 9. Floats
5. Patriotic
The theme of this year’s parade is: “A Grateful Nation Salutes Gulf War era Veterans”
Entries will be assigned a line-up number and the line-up time for each entry will be communicated to the group leader by November 10, 2017. However, all entries are asked to be lined-up in the staging area no later than one hour before the parade start time. Please note that parade participants must furnish their own float or conveyance. The parade will circle the parade route one time and is approximately one-mile in length.
At the end of the parade, a Grand Marshal Trophy will be awarded for the entry that best fits the parade theme. The award will be presented on stage at the front of the hospital immediately after the parade.
