To better align the National Council services with the local council needs and to create synergy with our volunteer governance and operating committees, the following tenured, experienced, and mission-oriented leaders have been selected to fill these roles:
Patrick Sterrett, ACSE:
National Director of Field Service
Patrick Sterrett, currently serving as Scout executive of Crossroads of America Council, will assume the role previously held by Don McChesney. In addition to supervising the four regional directors, Patrick will have an expanded role in managing other key operational areas of the National movement. Patrick will begin his duties on November 15, 2017.
Patrick began his career in the Daniel Webster Council located in Manchester, New Hampshire, serving as district executive, sr. district executive, and development director. He moved on to become the endowment director for the National Capital Area Council in Bethesda, Maryland, where he also served as director of development, director of field service, and deputy Scout executive. Patrick was then selected as Scout executive of the Del-Mar-Va Council in Wilmington, Delaware, followed by a short stint as area director in the Northeast Region. For the past four years, Patrick has successfully served as Scout executive of the Crossroads of America Council in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Patrick is a graduate of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. He is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and a former Wood Badge staff member.
Patrick and his wife Lori have three Eagle Scout sons – Michael, Travis, and Zach. His hobbies include tennis, golf, running, and Notre Dame sports.
Al Lambert, ACSE:
National Director of Outdoor Adventures
Al Lambert, currently serving as regional director of the Central Region, will become the Assistant Chief Scout Executive – National Director of Outdoor Adventures. In this capacity, Al will work with volunteer committees and give staff leadership to our three legacy High-Adventure bases, and the Summit Bechtel Reserve. Additionally, Al will supervise other key program activities. Al will begin his duties on October 1, 2017.
Al began his career as an exploring executive in the Chicago Area Council. After serving in several capacities, Al was promoted to field director for the East Valley Area Council, located in Forest Hills, Pennsylvania. Al was then selected as Scout executive of the Mason-Dixon Council in Hagerstown, Maryland. Following that, he moved on to serve as deputy Scout executive for the National Capital Area Council in Bethesda, Maryland, and then Scout executive of the Daniel Webster Council in Manchester, New Hampshire. Al returned to the National Capital Area Council to serve as Scout executive, and after several successful years in that role, was promoted to regional director of the Central Region.
Al is a graduate of Salem College in Salem, West Virginia. He is a Distinguished Eagle Scout, Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and a recipient of the Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award.
Al and his wife Pat have two daughters and are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren. His hobbies include, golf, fishing, camping, and reading.
Mark Logemann, ACSE:
National Director of Support Services
Mark Logemann currently serving as the Membership Growth Group Director will assume the position of Assistant Chief Scout Executive – National Director of Support Services. Similar to a local council operation, Mark’s duties will include leadership of all key infrastructure, IT, and other council related support services. Mark will begin his duties on October 1, 2017.
Mark began his career in the Dan Beard Council located in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving as district executive, district director, field director, and director of field service. Following that he was selected as Scout executive of the Southwest Michigan Council in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After five successful years he was promoted to area director for the 13 councils in Ohio and West Virginia. For more than eight years, Mark served as Scout executive of the Bay-Lakes Council in Appleton, Wisconsin.
In January 2016, Mark was selected to serve as the new Membership Growth Group Director at the National Service Center. In this role, Mark oversees departments and teams with direct responsibility for working in partnership with local councils in growing the membership of the Boy Scouts of America.
Mark is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and a James E. West Fellow. He graduated from Salem College in Salem, West Virginia, with a degree in youth agency administration and a minor in business.
Mark and his wife Anne have two Eagle Scout sons – David and Steven. His hobbies include golf, skiing, scuba diving, and woodworking.
