It has been a terrific year for gaming. Here are the top contenders for BL’s 2017 Boysie Awards.
The Nintendo Switch brought us two epic open-world games. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild kicked things off last spring. It’s not only the most beautiful game Nintendo has ever made, but it’s also one of the biggest.
Last fall, Super Mario Odyssey made us dream of being inside Mario’s world. That’s because this creative game allows players to go almost anywhere and do almost anything. If you’re a Nintendo fan, you’ll find lots of nods to past games, too!
The new Xbox One X had one of the best Forza racing games ever with Forza 7. And, on the smaller side, Cuphead was a creative tribute to cartoons of years past.
Sony released its own awesome racing game with Gran Turismo Sport. And Knack II, a heartwarming platformer with an even deeper story than the first offering.
Sonic Mania was a welcomed return to form for everyone’s favorite hedgehog. And the swashbuckling adventure within Pyre came out of nowhere to delight gamers. Nintendo’s Arms didn’t come out of nowhere, but it was one of the most fast-paced battle games this year.
