As we approach Rosh Hashanah, the Boy Scouts of America wish our fellow Scouts, Scouters and all our friends in the Jewish community a Shanah Tovah – a New Year of happiness, goodness and peace. The High Holy Days are a time to reflect on our history and our future direction. In the words of Mortimer Schiff, Jewish community leader and former BSA President, “This is not a time for speeches. Acts, not words, are what count in life.”
During the past year, the National Jewish Committee on Scouting celebrated 90 years of service and partnership with the Boy Scouts of America. Indeed, the history of Jewish support for Scouting dates back to BSA’s very founding. And it remains a vital ingredient of Scouting today. We look forward to continuing and growing that partnership.
