| This form is to gauge the interest in having a Jamboree on the Air event in Murfreesboro to coincide with the International JOTA (http://www.scouting.org/jota.aspx) and JOTI (http://www.scouting.org/joti.aspx) events occuring around the globe. Please fill out the form so we will know if there is enough interest to hold this event. This is the 59th year the JOTA has happened, the first time that we know if it happening here in Trail of Tears. | |
| JOTA – Jamboree on the Air | |
| There is an international event called Jamboree on the Air that is held annually in October. We are considering having a local event with a HAM operator (or more) on Saturday, October 15th at a TBD location in Murfreesboro for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to come talk to other scouts across the globe using HAM radios. We wanted to find out if your unit is interested in attending this event on October 15th. For those of you attending Cub & Family at Boxwell Reservation, we will have both a JOTA event and a JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) event at Boxwell at the new Stem Center in the Parnell Dining Hall) on October 15th. In addition to being incredibly fun, JOTA and JOTI count toward Scouting requirements: For Tigers, this meets requirements for the elective adventure Family Stories.For Webelos, it counts toward the Arrow of Light adventure Building a Better World.Boy Scouts can check off a requirement for the Citizenship in the World merit badge.All Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers and adult leaders can count the event toward the requirements for the International Spirit Award. | |
