If you’ve accessed Scouting U’s new BSA LearnCenter, you know about the top-notch development material available to BSA’s volunteers and employees. From Cub Scout information to commissioning, the LearnCenter is chock-full of educational modules to help us provide youth with the best Scouting experiences possible.

LMS Administrator for the BSA LearnCenter Doris Olson receives the Award for Innovation at the 2017 OHUG Global Conference in Orlando, FL.

Now, thanks to the continuing efforts of the Scouting U Instructional Design team, those beyond the Scouting community are taking notice of this sophisticated training resource. The BSA LearnCenter was recently recognized with a first place Award for Innovation from the Oracle HCM Users Group (OHUG).

OHUG, an organization devoted to providing insight into Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and HCM Cloud applications, presented the Boy Scouts of America with the award during the 2017 OHUG Global Conference earlier this month.

Scouting U team leader, Steven Yackel, credits the LearnCenter’s success to the group’s determination and hard work.

“I would like to recognize the continuing efforts of the Scouting U Instructional Design team for taking a leadership role on this project and for adopting a culture of continuous improvement,” Yackel explained

According to Yackel, BSA’s Information Technology Group also served as a strategic partner in the BSA LearnCenter endeavor. The ongoing support from the Information Technology Group has allowed the BSA LearnCenter to be integrated with the Akela database for volunteers and the Active Directory for employees.
