Congratulations to Erin Eisner, who will be joining the executive leadership cabinet of the National Council as the Chief Strategy Officer for Culture and People. In this new role, Erin will oversee critical strategic priorities – people, culture and diversity – which are inherently intertwined and pivotal to our success as a movement. This new role, which is effective immediately, elevates our organizational focus of all three initiatives, bolstering the efforts that Lisa Young and Ron Oats will continue to lead in their respective positions in HR and the Office of Diversity, while providing common vision and leadership to increase collaboration.

Erin’s selection for the role carries with it her impressive background and experience in all three initiative areas. She most recently served as the Deputy General Counsel for the BSA, where she has worked in the Legal Department since joining the organization in 2010. Erin has provided guidance on every major cultural membership decision this organization has undertaken in the last few years. She also regularly advised local and national council executives across numerous operational priorities, including partnering on HR policies and workplace issue management, overseeing the latest youth protection efforts to create and maintain a safe space in Scouting, and serving as a frequent trainer at Scouting U, national meetings and at local councils.

Prior to joining the BSA, Erin served as a senior trial attorney at the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and Treasury and in private practice advising corporations on employment and business strategies. She received her juris doctorate from SMU’s Dedman School of Law and bachelor of arts in political science from Loyola Marymount University.

Born and raised in Southern California, Erin is the proud mom of two children, her 13-year old daughter, Campbell and her 10-year old son, Cooper, and Erin brings that important perspective to our executive leadership team.

In the comments below, please join us as we welcome Erin to her new and transformational role within the BSA.
