A Cub Scout Prayer

Help us, dear God, to love thee day by day

Amen.

Scout Reverence

A Scout is Reverent. With the wide variation in ethnic and cultural background in many of our Packs, it pays to be sensitive to the various methods of worship. And part of that reverence is to respect others beliefs and practices.

As an example, to be culturally sensitive to all denominations of Scouts present at a meal, begin the blessing before meal:

"Please prepare yourself as your religion dictates."

(Not all religions WANT you to remove your hat or bow your head.)

Then at the close of your prayer, offer:

"We ask these things each according to our own faith, and I ask in the name of Our Lord."

Your Commissioner Staff is your Number One source for help and information.
